Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 94 Olds Silhouette control arm bushings, control arm bushings, haynes manual

Question
I have a 1994 Olds Silhouette that needs the control arm bushings replaced. My Haynes manual says I need to bring the whole control arm to the shop where they will do it for me, since it requires special tools. Is there a way for me to do it myself, or do I need to take it to the shop?  Also, is there such a part as a rocker arm bushing? Thanks for the advice!

Answer
Hi Rick,
Sometimes the upper bushings can be driven out with a muffler gun,(air impact chisel), while on the car.
But the special tool is a press. If you remove the "A"arm, you can probably drive them out with hand tools. Get a new bushing and look at it.

Rocker arm bushing?
I don't know, but the arm can be replaced.
