Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1999 olds cutlass, turn signal switch, fender bender

Question
I was driving home one morning and the dash lights went out. So I got out and check the rest of the lights and the park lights were also out, but still had head lights and brake lights. When I got home I checked the fuse for the park lights and it had blown. I put in another one and it also blew. I went to the trunk and disconnected both tail light assembles and disconnected the trailer plugin from the wiring harness. Blew the fuse again! So I switched the relays around to see if that was the problem, it wasn't blew the fuse again! So right now all I have is head lights and brake lights any suggestions on where else to look? It does have the automatic head light and park light system. Would check it but have no idea where it is located.

Answer
Hi
In the RIGHT side (passenger side) fuse box, remove the INST LAMPS fuse.
See if your PARK LMPS fuse blows. IF NOT (DOES NOT BLOW) there is a HUGE list of lamps and circuits that it COULD be.
IF IT DOES BLOW with the INST lamps fuse removed, It is a shorter list of items, the Turn signal switch, The panel dimmer switch or the Lamp Control Module OR RELATED wiring.
You need to eliminate what you can first, and keep elimnating until short circuit is found.
Questions.... Has ANY repairs been done lately?
Had a radio or some type of entertainment system?
Any aftermatrket lights? Any collision damage or fender bender lately? Did this just "pop" happen haphazardly?
Was the road bumpy?
Good Luck
Will help as much as possible.
