QUESTION: could you tell me the location of the fuel filter on my Wives 2005 Buick Rendezvous. 3.6 engine, Auto Transmission

ANSWER: Hi
2005 is located on the drivers side, just below the drivers seat area, on inside of frame uni.
If it happens to be an 2006, it does not have one, due to returnless fuel system.

QUESTION: I had the car up on jack stands and looked in this area with no luck yesterday but there is a black plastic box about4" by 6" just ahead of the fuel tank. Is there a chance it is inside? I thought I traced the fuel lines pretty well but I might have missed something. Thanks

You MAY not have one then... I looked again that appears where it is at.
If you followed the lines from tank towards front and it is not located in the lines, I would say you may not have one.
It looks like it is located right where the fuel lines bend to go up.
