Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: wiper blade home position on 2000 olds silhouette, radiator support, gas gauge

Question
First my apologies if you don't handle this type of vehicle. I have a 2000 Olds Silhouette that has had numerous electrical problems that may or may not all be associated. It has a 3400 engine
Currently the wiper blades stay in the upright position when turned off instead of returning to the down position. They act as if thge upright is the home position. Other possible related problems are, the gas gauge stays at full, the console outside temperature is way off by at least 30 degrees. Recently it also lost the memory for the chips in my vehicle keys and I had to have that reprogrammed. If unrelated how do I reprogram the wipers to go to the home position when turned off.
I have tried replacing the main computer located under the anti-freeze overflow but it changed none of the above symptoms.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hi
The wipers are in need of a part called "Wiper Crank Arm".
It gets out of alignment usually when blades are either pulled on or hang up while operating(frozen blades on glass can do it).
It is an eaisly replaced part. Instructions come with part.

The Fuel gauge could be either the sender inside the tank itself, OR This condition may be due to water leaking into the interior of the vehicle, and/or spread terminals, at connector C305 that is located on the floor to the rear of the driver's seat. This connector is not sealed from the inside of the vehicle and water may enter the connector causing the terminals to become corroded. Also, the female terminals of the connector may have become spread apart causing an intermittent poor connection.
I Have seen this condition NUMEROUS times, so it may be applicable to your condition.

The Ambient air temp sensor is 90% of the time the sensor itself.
It is located mounted to the underside of the radiator support (The radiator support flange mounts the ambient outside air temperature sensor near the radiator baffle) a small sensor with 2 wires going to it.
It also is a fairly easy straightforward part replacement.
I would just check first to make sure it's plugged in, but they USUALLY default to -30F when unplugged.
I do hope this helps.
Follow post back if more assistance is \needed.
Good Luck
