Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1) Driveline noise, 2) Suspicous warning lights, pontiac montana, cv joint

Question
1999 Pontiac Montana Van (LWB), 4.3L-V6, Automatic, 125K miles.
1) While driving the driveline howls,  When turning to the right, the noise stops.  I suspect a outer right side CV joint is failing.  I have heard about the hub too?  Suggestions please.
2) I have the ABS, TCS, and the BRAKE warning lights on all the time, but the brakes work fine. However, when I start the vehicle, I hear a "whirring" sound like a pump coming up to pressure. What can I do to troubleshoot this and the annoying light problem?
Thank for the help.

Answer
Hi
As for the noise I would HIGHLY suspect the hub. A CV joint, USUALLY only makes noise when turning and it would be a  clicking or loud ticking.
The ABS system really should be checked for codes, and have the codes then diagnosed.
MOST major national chain repair shops (Meineke, Midas, Pepboys, etc...) USUALLY will do an ABS Brake system Diagnosis for free or a very reduced rate.
The whirring is actually the ABS pump motor. That is a operating as designed noise. Unless it is REALLY REALLY loud I would not attempt a fix.
I hope this helps.
Please folllw post back if more questions.
Good Luck
