Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Retainer bolt - Harmonic Balancer 92 Park Avenue, crankshaft position sensor, impact wrench

Question
Ok so I am pretty sure my car's problem has to do with the crankshaft position sensor. I have my Harmonic Balancer Puller all ready to go..but I cant get the retaining bolt off. I tried jamming a socket and cranking the engine like ive seen posted on sites, but it snapped my wrench.
I cant afford an impact wrench, no one seems to rent/loan them either.  I dont really seem to have room for a breaker bar! Im desperate. Other than that, what is the best way to keep the crankshaft from turning? ive seen people say to use a scredriver on the flywheel, but i cant seem to not only find that, and I cant help but think it wont work becuae of the sheer force required to move this bolt.
Help!!

Answer
So, Gary,
What was your problem with my answer.
You are the one that tried to remove the bolt by cranking the engine.
My answer, Cranking the engine would tighten the bolt, meant just that. lucky you didn't twist it off, or get hit by the flying wrench, or both.
The part of the answer,"The screwdriver, or a flywheel turning wrench should work",was an answer that should have helped you.
And an impact wrench can be rented at almost any tool rental place, but a good one would break the bolt off if operated in the wrong direction, so it may not be what you need.

At any rate, I hope you got it fixed.
