Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Car shutting down, oldsmobile ninety eight, fuel pressure regulator

Question
I have a 1994 Oldsmobile ninety eight; beginning yesterday, while driving, my car would stall out and the dash would read "Hot AC disabled".  The 'check engine' light has also appeared on the dash.  I also noticed that while driving my car would not enter into overdrive when given a lot of gas.  I did the fuel pump test by removing the gas cap and turning the key forward and listening for the fuel pump, and the fuel pump DOES cut in for about 2 seconds.  Any suggestions to the problem with my car?

Answer
Hi
With the Hot light on I would check any condition that can cause overheating (low coolant level, faulty thermostat, fans not coming on, etc...)This COULD also be causing the stall. I would advice you to take it to a shop in your area and have the computer diagnostic ran, and get the
code(s) retieved from the computer.
From that, a better diagnostics can be made.
Other items to check would be check for spark.
Also the fuel pump may be running, but the proper pressure must be there. Have that checked.
Take the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator, see if there is ANY fuel in the vacuum line, if so the regulator is faulty.
These are JUST suggestions.
I hope it helps.
Good Luck
