Question
I have 98 oldsmobile silhouette. it does not start from 1st 2nd or 3rd attempt and usually i have to push on fuel to make it start + it does stop frequently on aany stop sign, red light or even while driving and i have to restart it. please advice.

Answer
Hello Hend,
I would want to make sure the fuel pressure is up where it belongs, and also make sure there are no vacuum leaks.
One easy place for a vacuum leak to occur is the EGR valve closing on some carbon. Not unusual at all, and could cause those symptoms.
It can easily, and cheaply, be cleaned. Just remove it and clean it. It is actually something that is supposed to be done occasionally.
In addition, I would clean the idle air control valve on the throttle body.
Berrymans, or some other spray carburetor/PCV valve cleaner is the stuff to use, for both of them.
