Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 2001 Olds Aurora anti theft, gm passlock, 2001 olds aurora

Question
My daughter somehow got the family car ('01 Olds Aurora) in to what i think is anti theft mode. The lights, door alarm and electrical work, but nothing to the starter at all. There have been no electrical problems at all. Now its like the starter wire is non existent. Is the a code to punch in the radio or something to exit the anti theft with the key on?  Help would be appreciated.   Brad

Answer
Hi Brad,
You are thinking about a system GM had called Delco-Lock, which actually would disable a radio, and make it not work if someone tried to steal the radio.
But the security system for the car is probably the GM Passlock system.
I have a link for bypassing it, but that may not be what you want to do, and also, the link may not cover your system.

It is also possible there is a fuse, or fusible link blown for the ignition.

Also wiggle the shift lever in case it is just the neutral safety switch acting up.

Another possibility is the starter itself, or the ignition switch.

May be co-incidental that the problem just happened while the daughter was using it, and she did nothing wrong at all.
