Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Stalling..., oldsmobile cutlass ciera, 1993 oldsmobile cutlass ciera

Question
hi,
my 93' cutlass ciera (150,000 miles) stalled on me today when I slowed down and came to a stop at a light. The engine was warm and the car was running fine up and till that point. I had more than half a tank of gas, but it felt as though I was out of gas when the car stalled. I was able to start the car easily enough after that while in 'Park', but as soon as I shifted into gear it would stall. I let the car sit with the engine off for a few minutes. when i started it again and shifted into gear it seemed fine (might have been fluke). Any ideas on what the cause/problem of the stalling could be? And any suggestions or possible solutions?
Thanks!

Answer
Dirty fuel filter, or low pressure comes to mind. I would connect a pressure tester if it does it again, and make sure the pressure is up to spec.

Another thing to check is the EGR valve. If it happened to close on a piece of carbon, it would act like a large vacuum leak. On a restart, it might have opened, and allowed the carbon to blow out, and correct itself.
May not happen again.
