Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1983 Regency Brougham, pvc valve, pcv valve

Question
Just recently my '83 Brougham quit running while idling, and now it will sometimes start, most times no. When it does start, there is absolutely no power, even with the accelerator fully depressed. The choke was just recently adjusted. Is this the problem, or is it my fuel pump or maybe ignition coil? The distributor and all wiring are good. Somebody also suggested my PVC valve. HELP.

Answer
I doubt it is the pcv valve, but check it to see if it is stuck wide open.
The EGR valve is a possibility.
I would check the fuel filter, and while checking it, see if the fuel pump is supplying a good amount of gas, by connecting a piece of hose to the line, and pump some gas into a container by cranking the engine over.
