Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1983 olds cutlass diesel water pump, oldsmobile cutlass, olds cutlass

HI.  I am in the process of replacing the water pump on a 1983 oldsmobile cutlass with the 4.3 diesel engine. It seems to me that the engineers started with the water pump and built the entire engine around it.  It looks like i just need to take off every bracket that mounts onto the water pump.  I was just wondering if you had any suggestions before i get too involved.  Thanks for your time.

No suggestions. Just be patient, and mark or take pictures of where stuff comes off.
Some of the bolts screw right into the water jacket, so use some sealer, like non hardening permatex on them when reassembling.
Consider replacing the fan clutch at the same time. Some warranties require it.
