Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 94 olds running rough when decelerating, throttle position sensor, air control valve

Question
Hello,   I have a 94 olds bravada.   When i am accelerating or driving with foot on the gas pedal it runs fine.   but when I let off of the gas it starts to run rough and seems like it surges in power and if i don't get on the gas again it stalls.   Any idea what is going on?   i have ~135k miles on it.

Thanks

Ralph

Answer
Hello Ralph,
Idle air control valve would be the first thing I would check, and just clean it with spray carb cleaner. Don't even need to remove it.

Then the EGR valve. it should be cleaned occasionally anyway. it can close on some carbon, and then act like a big vacuum leak.

Throttle position sensor is another possibility.
