Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Pontiac Bonniville, pontiac bonniville, upper radiator hose

Question
I have installed an engine on a 96 3.8 bonniville.  When I started it it ran fine but cuts off, I noticed the plugs seem to be wet with gas. put new plugs in it runs fine and cuts off, can't really figure this out.  I also can't seem to find where a little hose plugs in the pcv valve the big hose is on it but the other ? when the car runs it sounds good isn't ideling high or anything it just shuts off Ive notice the engine light is on, oil pressure good, temp is good, oh yeah when it was running the last time the upper radiator hose seemed to be sucked in can't figure this out.  (this is my mother in laws car) any help will be appreciated) godd bless

Answer
First...any chance the plugs are wet with water, rather than gas?
The small hose may go to something else, but there is no small hose to the PCV valve. Maybe a vacuum hose for the egr valve?

If the rad hose sucked closed whike the engine was running, it may be that somehow the water pump belt is routed wrong, and it is turning backwards. Other possibilities are just sue to contraction of the coolant, but it should have pressurized fairly soon after startup. Coolant level could be low also.
