Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: EVAC System, vacuum hoses, charcoal canister

Vehicle is a 1998 Buick Regal 3.8 L. (non turbo)
The Check Engine Light has recently appeared on my dash.
I had a tech. read the code and cleared it after he told me the code is showing an EVAC problem.
The gas cap was tight so we ruled that out.
What else could it be and how do i go about fixing it?

Hi Carl,
Basically, all of the vacuum hoses should be checked, but the EVAC is probably EVAP, or the vapor recovery system.(Evaporative emissions recovery system.) That is the charcoal canister. Find it, and check all the hoses to it for cracks.
