Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1994 Buick Roadmaster, buick roadmaster, crank sensor

Question
I thought that it was time to replace the battery on my 94 Roadmaster as the car just died one day.  I was on a trip and the people who replaced the battery did not clean the terminals very well.  On my way home the car died again and I loosened and tightened the terminal and was able to make it home.  Then I cleaned the terminals myself.  The positive terminal had a good bit of corrosion, but I think that I got it all.  However, the car still dies at random times.  It will restart immediately.  In fact, it has stalled out at 40-50 mph and restarted on its on.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Answer
Hi Tom,
I think it might be a loose connection, but I don't think it is the battery connection, although they do need to be clean.
My father-in-law has a Buick, and theirs had a connector behind the alternator that was just pulled tight, and would intermittently break contact and do the same thing.
But their are sensors that can also do that, like the crank sensor.
That is one that if it does not start right back up some day, you will need to find out if it is lack of spark, or lack of fuel, and then go from there.
Sorry I have no positive fix.
