Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: power windows, jumper wires, buick regal

Hello Van,

I have a 2001 Buick Regal LS with less than 40.000 miles on it.  Last Saturday July 2, 2005 the passenger rear window quit working. No buttons work or anything for this window. All other windows work fine.  Last Friday everything was working fine. What happened?  How do I fix this? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

You will need to remove the door panel, and check to see that power is getting to the motor.
One wire will have power with a switch in the up position, and the other wire will have power in the down position.
The ground is also switched to change direction.
If power does not seem to get there, and you can get to the connector, use some jumper wires to jump power and ground to the motor to check it.
Swap wires to change direction.
if it doesn't work that way, a new motor will be needed, which is what I suspect.
If it works with the jumpers, but no power is getting there, the switch or connector is probably bad.
