Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 93 Oldsmobile 88 fuel leak, oldsmobile 88, gas tank

Question
I have 1993 oldsmobile 88 that has a fuel leak in the gas line near the gas tank. The leak looks like it is coming from a connector that connects the steel lines from the gas tank to the rubber fuel line. I have no idea what this is called, or how to take it off. I was also wonder if I could bypass this and connect the fuel line directly to the steel fuel line.

Thank you for your time,

Answer
Hello Ricky,
That would be hard for me to say, not being able to see it.
On fuel injected engines, with the pump in the tank, that pressure, if on the supply line, can be a little higher than you might want to trust to just a hose clamped on a steel line.
If it is the return line, no problem doing it that way, since there is almost no pressure in it.
Might want to get that where you can get a good look at exactly where it is leaking.

It also may be necessary to drop the tank to get where you need to be to replace it, once you decide which part is the problem.
