Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Buick wont start, factory service manuals, haynes manuals

Question
My 89 LaSabre will not start.  I have power and starter turns engine over.  Fuel pressure at the rail is 42 pounds.  I have a new MAF sensor.  An in line testor shows spark to the plugs.  The car has started a couple of times but when I shut it off it wont start again.  I have wiggled wires and checked connections all over the engine.  How do I eliminate possible causes without just replacing them?  My Chilton book is no help in this diagnosis. Any suggestions?

Answer
A CHILTON or HAYNES manuals are totally useless. I have a library of over 100 factory service manuals and yoou will NEVER see one of the above said GENERIC books on my shelves.

Put a standard 12 volt test light acroos the terminals of one of the fuel injector connectors and see if the test light flashes ON and OFF as you try and stsrt the car.

Try spraying a SMALL amount of starting fluid in the engine and see if it tries to stsrt. If it does, this tells us that you are not getting either FUEL or ignition to the fuel injectors.
