Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: transmisson, tuffys, olds bravada

Question
Hi Tom,
I have a 2000 olds bravada, it seems to wanna thump in first gear but not all the time, seems like after it is driven awhile and get warm, someone said I should have the trans serviced at a Tuffys, have the fluid removed, clean the trans and Tor conv and screen and replace all the fluid. My Question is do you think this is a good Idea or should I just take it to a trans place like aamco.
thank you

Answer
Personally and professionally I do not recommend either facility. The only place to have this done is at your local Olds dealers service department as they know your transmission and every part that is in it. they also get BULLETINS from the manufacturer when a recurrent problem starts to develop with vehicles identical to yours and they can make the necessary repairs.

These other facilities DO NOT get these bulletins and have no clue as to if there is a recurring problem via notification from the manufacturer.
