My cruise control just stopped working. Went to check fuse but fuse box is in difficult spot to see anything. Brake Pedal switch seems to be OK. Cable lines and vacuum lines seem OK.
I own a 1996 Buick Park Ave. What do you think?
Answer -
IS or HAS the check engine light ever illiminated ?.

YES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. REPLACED PLUGS & WIRES but not sure if that was the instant it would not work, but it stopped the check engine light from coming on. Also water pump replaced.

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed..

Answer
ANYTIME the check engine light is illuminated on the dash the cruise control will NOT work until the problem is fixed that made the check engine light illuminate and the light MUST be OUT for the cruise to resume working.

Since work was done look for loose wires and vacuum hoses.

If the check engine light is still ON, the cruise will NOT work.
