Hello. I have a 94 buick century, 60k miles
4 cyl. I pulled into a parking lot and the engine stumbled severely, and car seemed to surge forward. It has a little stumble sometimes during idle, but never did this before. looks like it could be original fuel filter.
Not sure where to look, fuel or electrical?
Answer -
It is very doubtful that the fuel filter is the cause, But it should be changed as a maintenance item anyway.

When was the last tuneup you had done on the vehicle ?.

there are just so many possible faults that it could be, That without having access to the vehicle an exact diagnosis is most impossible.
I change oil 2 times a year, and its been about three years for plugs, wires, and air filter. I put about 10k miles a year on it. I suppose it should have a computer diagnostics done to it.

Answer
You ONLY change the oil TWO times a YEAR ?. The oil and filter need to be changed every 3 to 4 thousand miles or every 3 months.

You are not keeping up with your normal maintenance and are neglecting the vehicle's needs.

You need to have a FULL COMPLETE diagnostic tune up on this vehicle from a professional knowledgeable facility who knows how to PROPERLY service your vehicle.
