Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: fuel presure, throttle body injection, olds aurora


Question
Have a 96 olds.aurora ,4.0   This vehicle had an extreamly cloged fuel filter.changed the filter ...came up with codes that pointed to the TPS,changed that,....car will run at idle when cold then dies..........checked fuel presure and it is between 7 and 10 psi.........what should it be........would appreciate any help.

Hello Dean,
Cars with throttle body injection call for 10 to 13 PSI at the test port while running. I like the 13. So even if you had throttle body injection, I would think your pressure was at the low end.

However, I believe you have MFI, or SFI, both multiport injection, and they call for higher pressure, like 26 to 46 PSI.
