Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: ABS, ford windstar, senser

Hi Pete,

I own Ford Windstar from 1995.Recently ABS light is coming ON. Not every time when I use my car but it is there.
We took it to mechanic and person checked breaks and cleaned area around breaks and said everything is fine.
I did find article on internet where is stated that if ABS is ON you can still use your breaks and not to have any problems at all.
Is this true?
I am also woried because when ABS goes ON, the red light for breakes lit for 2-3 seconds too and goes off.
Is this a problem?
What are you suggesting?

this is a bad senser the mech. who checked it out should have done a diagnostiac test to check the ABS sensers bring it to a shop and tell them you want a diagnostiac on ABS they will find the bad senser and let u know the cost and if you say yes then they will do the serivice.

and i would becarfuell driving it when a light comes it is a problem and should be found asap .
