Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: oil light 1990 oldsmobile cutlass ciara, oldsmobile cutlas, oldsmobile cutlass

Question
I went and got my oil changed they put in 5w 30 and the oil light came on after they changed the oil. so they thought the oil was to thin for the car because its a 90 with over 100,000 miles on it. so they took out the 5w 30 and put 10w 30 in. now the oil light is still on but when you excelerate it goes off until you let off the gas then the light comes back on. do you know what that could be and how to fix it? Its a 1990 oldsmobile cutlas ciara, 4 cylinder, about 130,000 miles. any ideas?

Answer
HI KATIE ,WOW BAD NEWS ROD BEARINGS AND POSSIBLE CRANKSHAFT.MAYBE JUST A BAD OIL PRESSURE SENSOR.TRY THIS FIRST ABOUT 20.00 IF YOU NEED A CRANK PROB AROUND 1000 .YOU SEE BETWEEN OIL CHANGES THE CRANK PROBABLY BEGAN GOING BAD AND THE OIL WAS MIXED WITH METAL SHAVEINGS.WHICH WILL INCREASE OIL PRESSURE.WHEN YOU CHANGED THIS ALL THE METAL SHAVEINGS LEFT NOW YOU HAVE FRESH OIL AND LOW OIL PRESSURE.MOST LIKELY NOT A PROB CAUSED BY THE OIL CHANGE PLACE.I WISH IT WERE I WOULD CERTAINLY TELL YOU GOOD LUCK JATIE PLEASE VOTE FOR ME TY BILLYMAC
