Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Intake manifold gasket, intake manifold gasket, buick reagal

Question
I have a 94 Buick Reagal GS with 3.8 L , V6 motor.  It has been diagnosed that the intake manifold gasket needs to be replaced and I was told that the Plenum gasket would also need to be replaced along with new oil and antifreeze. The car is in very good condition otherwise.  Does this sound true? I was quoted $435.00.  Does this sound like a fair price?

Answer
hi jay, well if the intake gasket goes out it will do one of two things, either leak antifreeze, maybe in the oil.or run poorly causeing stalling or high idle .and to replace this the plentum is mounted on top,so yes it will need a new gasket.and ofcourse you will need the intake gasket as well.and water will run into oil when you remove this.so yes.that is fair.it will be about 4 hrs labor min, depending on the labor rate..so i would concidder this average.not a good deal but not that bad.hope this helps please rate my help billymac
