Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 98 Sunfire, coil pack, carbon deposits

Question
When its warm outside and you've been driving for about 20 minutes the engine will start bouncing like it wants to pop out of the car. It loses power and hesitates hard like that and sometimes it stops and sometimes it don't. Now that it's cold outside it runs fine. It did it to me before and I changed the fuel filter, but it didn't work this time. I tried a different coil pack and ignition module, that cat isn't pluged. I think it might be fuel pump but thats a 200 dollar maybe it has a 2.2L and 3 speed auto

Answer
hi andy ,well you will need a fuel pressure tester to test fuel pressure.and you have to test it while it is doing this.but sounds a lot like either plug wires or egr valve.as for egr valve when it is running bad tap on egr valve and see if it runs better if so remove valve and clean carbon deposits out from the pintle .for the plug wires start it up in the dark and look for wires sparking.if they are arking they are bad.but if you don,t remember the last time you changed the wires ,then you should probably change them anyway.fuel pump or regulator is a possibility but a slight one and expensive.good luck please rate my help ty billymac
