Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Good Day, buick regal, vise grips

Hood repair
Over this very cold weekend, the cable which is pulled just below the drivers seat to open the hood snapped and broke completely  Is there an alternative method to open the hood.  The car is a 1991 Buick Regal, in very good repair.  It runs quite well except for little annoyances like this

Hello Desi,
I recommend you take that one to a Buick body shop, or at least call them and see if they can do it.
If it broke near the handle, and you can get to the cable housing just beyond where it broke,(measure with broken cable), you can cut into the housing, and get the cable with some vise grips.
It will all need to be replaced anyway.
