Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Buick Lesabre starting, spark plug wires, buick lesabre

Question
I have a 1998 Buick Lesabre with a 3800 series v6 (I  believe a 231 ci)117,000 miles.  I started the engine this morning and it idled very rough.  Then it died in about 2 minutes.  I won't restart.  I checked for spark by taking a spark plug out and watching for the spark as someone turned the ignition key.  There was no spark. The battery is good, all of the lights work normally.  The car just passed its emission inspection.  Any suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated.  One fellow suggested the ignition module, but I'm not familiar with this.  A couple of years ago I replaced the spark plug wires, spark plugs and 1 ignition coil.
thanks...
