Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Heater Control Switch, fan speeds, control switch

Question
wks ago speeds on blower switch went out, only high speed would work, motor started making sounds, then stopped working I changed motor and replaced fuse. New Motor runs smoothly now but still only at high, then it stopped working altogether, fuses ok.  Do you think it is the control switch, if so are they easy to replace, the motor was hard.  Thanks.

Answer
hi kelly .i don,t know what kind of car you have, but all cars use a heater motor resistor.this controls the fan speeds and can cause the motor to not work or blow fuses.this is mounted near your heater motor and has 4 wires or so and two bolts holding it on theheater box.it is fairly cheap 25.00 .good luck  billymac
