Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Electrical probs with Grand AM?, electrical diagnosis, batt cable

Question
Sorry to post this here but there are no experts in the Pontiac section yet!  My 2000 Grand AM SE has, what I believe may be some electrical 'issues.' When I turn it on, there are sometimes 'lights' that come on like, "Low coolant", "low oil" etc even though the car fluid levels are fine.  Lately, since the cold weather hit, the "ABS" and "No trac" lights come on and stay on.  I haven't noticed a difference in driving/braking etc. but these lights seem to come on consistantly now.  Any idea what might be happening here?  Something wrong with the ABS system? Any ideas of what that could be? And do you think an electrical diagnosis is in order? Any thoughts on what those usually run cost wise? Lots of questions, thanks in advance for your response!

Answer
hi shauna.well the abs lights and traction are one in the same ,caused by a wheel skid as in icey road conditions.disconnect the neg batt cable for a few mins that should fix that until your wheels lock up again. the low coolant light and low oil light could be a bad low coolant light sensor in your overflow tank.and a bad sensor in your oil pan for the low oil light.when you have them checked they will check each specific prob as there is no elec system test for all these specific probs.i would estamate a 100 dollar charge for testing these things/.good luck billymac
