Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: cooling system, olds cutlass, core radiator

Question
water is leaking out the tail pipe. it has over
heated the thermostat has a hole in it so the water will flow. i have tried stop leak. i need
to know if i put a new thermostat in it. then
put some stop leak in it. also this is 89 olds
cutlass calais.
just one more thing does this car have a water
pump and if so where is it cuz i cant find it
they stuff to much into a small car.

hi micheal,well yes it does have a water pump i will have to asume you have a quad 4 eng ,judgeing bye the symptoms it has.stop leak will plug holes cracks and and water leaks.however it doesen,t know the diff in leaks and flow passages so it tends to stop up everything heater core radiator etc.so if you use stop leak remove t stat first.sounds like you are in for some expensive repairs ty billymac
