Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: oldsmobile delta 88 royale, oldsmobile delta 88, starter solenoid

my son in law was going use my car its got about 60000 miles on it i had just got out of it about ten minutes earlier and ws running fine but he got in to start it and nothing i replaced the starter starter solenoid and had another key made i can reach under ther car and start it with a screwdriver but it will not keep running please help if u can thanks

Sounds like the ignition switch, or if it uses a "Chip Key", electronic theft deterent system, it could be the problem.
If he got in it and relocated the tilt steering wheel, it could have made a difference in the switch operation. The switch is adjustable on the steering column, above the brake pedal, and may have just moved.
