Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: opening passenger door with remote control., latch assembly, oldsmobile 88

i just bought a 1996 oldsmobile 88.at first the passenger door unlocked when using the remote control. now the unit on the door goes up a little bit, but not far enough to unlock the door. is it hard to get this assembly from the door, and how can i do it? must be a bad connection or a weak solenold. your help will be appreciated, thanks a lot,   ksrl.

The latch and lock mechanism could also be dirty and sticking.
I have taken cans of Liquid Wrench,(I personally like it much better than WD-40), stuck the little red tube on the nozzle, and by going in through the latch itself, holes near it, and even down through the window opening, and hose the latch assembly. Work the lock button a bunch, and hose it some more.
I have numerous times had that proceedure fix the problem, and it would work fine for months.
