Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: dash lights, traction control system, problem cars

Question
hi. you are going to think i am a dumb broad, and i guess i am when it comes to anything about cars!  i have a '95 olds silhouette and got it used last year with 40,000 mi on it.  i don't know where i can get ahold of the original users manual or if i need it.  it's got 71,000 mi on it now and both "ABS" and "TCS" lights are lit up on the dash and i don't know what it means and if i need to take it in.  the brakes feel fine...  i'd appreciate any info you could give me.  thanks a bunch.

Answer
hi sonya, and no i don,t think you are a dumb broad.since you are concerned about a safety prob.the traction control system and the abs light are the same problem.cars with abs ,anti lock brake systems, have a built in device that turns the abs off if a malfuntion occurs.so if light is on your vehicle will still stop fine.it just won,t have the ability to keep all 4 wheels from locking if you slam on the brakes.which before abs no cars did.what you have is a bad sensor on one of the wheels.and if you want it fixed then take it and have it fixed.but if not put black tape over it lol.and this vehicle just about all of them are on. gm spent 2oo.ooo dollars to figure out how to get that light to come on.and so far 80 million trying to get it to shut off lol.relax and if you want a manual go to the dealer they can order one for you.ty for writeing .please take a min of your time and raTE  my help .as pete lacey is killing me lol  billymac
