Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Where is the oil dipstick tube located on 1985 Olds Delta 88, delta 88, oil dipstick

Pulled the oil dipstick out & tube came out.
Can't find place to replace.

hi bob.the dipstick will go in one of two places in this car  on the bottom of the engwhere the eng and the oilpan meet.there is a holein the eng block.the caseing may have broken off inside the eng.the stick should be smaller on the bottom if it is not it has broken off.another place it can be is in the front of the eng in the timeing case.you will need to shine a flash light down in these locations the hole is there just may not be easy to see.good luck billymac
