Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1990 cutlass ciera 3.3, cutlass ciera, fuel pressure regulator

Question
i have a '90 cutlass ciera that doesn't want to start. A had numerous mechanics look at it and finally we putting a new brain box in. That worked for about 5 hours after leaving the shop and the car bogged down and shut off. It started back up with no problems. About an hour after that I driving and the car shut off again and would not start back up. I've tried fuel pressure regulator, module, coil packs, and even changed the fuel pump and filter. Can you please give some suggestions. Thank You for your time.

Answer
Hello Zachary,
What I say, you may not like.
But, if you needed a ECM, (brain) due to something causing it to self destruct, and you didn't find and repair the cause of the selfdestruction, then it still exists, and there is a good chance it will cause the replacement to self destruct.

In Mitchell and Chilton manuals, there are proceedures for testing each sensor, and each controlled device, to see if there is a problem, such as a short that will cause damage to the ECM(Engine Control Module).

A scan tool might be able to recover any stored codes in the ECM, but also, there may not be any.
