Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: brakes, rear disc brakes, car coast

I have a 1999 Buick Regal.....It seems everytime I turn around, I need brakes...The car has never been in an accident..I know they had problems with the rear disc brakes and changed over to drums...Is there anything I can do to lenghten the time between brake jobs...

hi raymond.yes yes yes.you can .don,t ride the brakes .and when you stop instead of running up to stop sign and pressing hard slow down let the car coast and gradually increase brake pressure.if you are a city driver then not much you can do.but just let gravity help you slow down and not put all the work on the brakes.do you use park brakes.? if so make sure you or maybe a second driver never leaves the park brake on or partially on.this is the biggest killer of brakes.well hope this helps.please take a moment of your time to rate my service ty billymac
