Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: transmission, 700r4 trans, delta 88

Question
I have a 84 oldmobile delta 88 305. I recently put in a new transmission and now it won't shift past 2nd gear can this be fixed?

hi danielle.well yes probably just left a vacum line off.on the back of the trans on the pass side.there will be a valve there with port that a vacum hose hooks too.this hose should be there near the trans or maybe was left on old one   needs to be hooked to manafold vacum.this only applies to all gm trans except if you have overdrive or a  700r4 trans.if you have this one be sure the cable is hooked up to the carburator.if it is there is a adjustment on this cable at the carb you just push in on the lock on the cable with a screwdriver.and adjust and drive until it shifts right for you.good luck please take a sec of your time to rate my help very important  ty billymac
