Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: smoke that smells like gas, oldsmobile aurora, head gasket

Question
I had a recall on my fuel lines. replaced on wednesday, friday I overheated. when I got it home, it was smoking white smoke that smelled like gas. I discovered a belt off the adjustment pully for the water pump.  the pully was broken. So that is why I overheated. but now, since it overheated do you think because of the white smoke, that smells like gas, that I have blown a head gasket or craked the head?   95 oldsmobile aurora. V8, 165,000 miles.  been a great car. any help would be appreciated.

Answer
hi kay.well i am sorry to say  yes you most likely caused some maj eng repair.if the eng overheats and you see white smoke something is cracked blown etc.but just for the heck of it why don,t you ask the dealer if the belts have to be removed for the recall procedure they done.probably not.but it won,t hurt to ask.good luck.please take a min to rate my help.and feel free to ask anytime ty billymac
