Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Ignition fault?, oldsmobile delta 88, wireing diagram

Question
Hi Bill,
Thanks for taking the time to read my question. I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Delta 88. I installed a combination alarm/remote starter myself and will never attempt that again. There is a loose connection somewhere causing the tranciever remote to lose conection with the car. I found that if I started the car I could get it to work. Then, the car died and could not be started with the key. I could remote start the car but then when I turned the key to "on", and stepped on the brake, it would not continue running. If I try to start the car with the key, the dash lights are dim and there is no response from the starter at all. Remote start still works as long as the loose connection somewhere is making that connection. I haven't been able to find the loose connection yet. I will keep trying though. There is one wire to the remote starter that goes to the ingition for engine speed monitoring. Could the switch at the key be at fault or the ignition module itself? Is there a way to test them to be sure before I make a purchase?
Thanks for your time.

Answer
hi jeff. i am going to try and help you but these systems vary so much in design.you probably have a wire in the wrong spot on the control module.for the alarm.or possibly have a wire connected to the car that is not part of the process of the installation.or possibly in the starter interupt system of the alarm.i would look very close at the wireing diagram and make sure you have the right application for this vehicle.now if no luck contact the manufacturer they will have a hotline with a alarm tech on staff to help you good luck .please take a min to rate my service. ty billymac
