LOOKING AT BUYING CAR FOR $900 BUT NEED TO KNOW APPROXIMATE COST FOR FIXING/REPAIRING STRIPED REVERSE GEAR FOR A 1994 BUICK CENTURY

hi craig. the cost of the parts will exceed 100.00.but craig you need to understand exactly what a stripped gear does.all of the shaveings are more then likely spread throughout the whole trans if you check the fluid you will see a good amount of steel in it.this means also the cooler and most parts of trans is ruined .so you would be looking at 1500.00 in a trans.now the other solution is go to your local junkyard buy a used trans 300-500.and if you can install it .but if you have to pay a garage to install then you could add 350-500 more.so this is your choices.couple grand either way .is the car worth this no craig.however if it is worth it to you then it is worth it you have to deceide just how much you want to have in the car.thanks and please take time to rate us.billy mac
