Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Chugging at even RPM, 1995 saturn sc2, saturn sc2

Dear Mr. McMillen, Saturn isn't your particular specialty, i Know but please hear me out. I just bought a 1995 Saturn SC2 1.9l DOHC with automatic trans. I installed new plugs and wires and any cracked hoses I could find. The gas pedal is sticky at initial pressure. I lubed the pivot pin, the throttle cable -at both ends- and whatever the other assembly is that looks like a small keg on a cable at the top of the throttle pedal. I assume that has to do with transmission modulation? My problem is this: When I push it kinda hard, it performs great. But if there is no, or little throttle change, it "chugs". Not like a full miss or buck, just not smooth at all. Also, if you can help, both my Saturn and my daughters ( a manual ) make a metallic sound like a door clanging open when they are first put into forward or first gear. This only happens after starting the car, but it happens each and every time you start the car and begin to drive.
Any help or input that you can recommend would be greatly appreciated. I know you are not certified as a Saturn expert but these sound like common problems to any number of G.M. cars. Thanks a lot in advance for any help you can provide, Bill B.

hi bill.lol you are right not cert in saturns but ase which is all vehicles.and have spent some quality time with your type of car. well bill it sounds like one of two probs.one is timeing and timeing is everything you have to have the timeing checked to be sure it is correct if so.then more then likely a fuel injection prob.DO YOU HAVE A CHECK ENG LIGHT ON AND IS IT WORKING PROPERLY IT SHOULD COME ON WITH KEY ON ENG OFFF.AND AGAIN WHEN CAR STARTS FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN GO OFF VERY IMPORTANT IN DIAGNOS A PROB.possibilities that cause this prob with no check eng light..air filter fuel filter plugged injectors low fuel pressure.compression spark .hope this helps please rate my service  billymac  oh the noise you here is most like ly a eng mount.have an assistan hold the brake and put it in drive does the eng move a lot bad mount
