Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: blower, resistor pack, fusible link

Question
1995 Olds 88 Royale
3.8 motor

Blower does not work for air cond., heat, defrost, etc.

I replaced the blower motor, checked all fuses and still does not work

Answer
Hi Tim,
The fuse for the power to tell the blower to work is the heater/air cond 20Amp.
From there the power goes to the blower switch, in the heater control assembly, and then to the blower relay, and the resistor pack. That power should operate the blower in all speeds except high.
When high speed is selected, the blower operates on a fusible link in a red wire, and uses battery voltage.
But for high, the relay must operate, and it is dependent on the other power mentioned above, so I would suspect that if the A/C fuse is good, the fan speed switch, or associated wires and connectors is probably the problem.

Check the black ground wire from the blower motor, and make sure it is making good contact.
