Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: emmision controll on my olds., oldsmobile acheiva, time melissa

Question
I was wondering if the emmision controll valve is the same part as an EGR valve? And what kind of labor this job will require? I have a 1996 oldsmobile acheiva sc 3.1L v6. atomatic transmission. Also I found out last week that I have a transmission filter, how often does that need to be changed, and if I'm passed the miles I needed to change it at, will it hurt my car?    thanks for your time-melissa moore.

the egr valve should be no more that 50 dollors and the tranny service 75 dollors it should be done every 60.000 miles and you can do it now it is going to help it . good luck to you hun and if you need more help just let me know and you have a pretty name pete
