Pontiac Repair: 2001 pontiac aztek

Question
I am an all experts member under the construction trade, love the site so when I need help, might as well come here.
y dilemma is this, I have a 01 aztek that needs motor changed, I have been told easiest way is to undo the shock towers and the 4 bolts in sub frame, and hoses etc, and role front end right out after supporting the back end, My question is this though, is an 01 montanna sub frame the same as the 01 aztek, I know the motors are the same 3.4l (3400) but would the sub frame not be different. Also any advice to give on doing this job, Right now I have to do it myself with help from a friend who is somewhat mechanically inclined, as work is slow. any help would be great, if you need construction advice please look me up. thanx for your time and help

Answer
Hi Albert:
Yes you 100% correct that is the way to change the engine it will not come out the top due to the small hood. but I would not take the struts out. take the 2 bolts that the strut to the knuckle and just drop the bottom of the suspension out your making more work for your self takeing the complete trusts out. no other tips other then to double and triple  check you didn't forget anything before you lower it out of the truck. one last thing to make sure about is a/c system to make sure it's drained properly before you take the engine oput. if the system doesn't work and it's empty anyways oh well. but if not have a shop evacuate the system before you take the engine out. that is if the thing runs and is driveable.
