Car will start but when i shift to drive or reverse car goes nowhere

were there any issues with the way it drove before this happened? does it have any transmission fluid leak prior to this happening? first and foremost check the fluid level if the fluid is full then there is an internal failure inside the transmission and there is nothing your going to be able to do to fix it your self.
