Pontiac Repair: 05 Pontiac Grand Prix, pontiac grand prix, 2 quarts

Question
I have a 05 Pontiac grand prix. When I'm driving and the car shifts into a gear (automatic) it kinda bumps or kicks . Also the engine light is on but Idk if that has to do with anything. I checked it a while back when it had this problem and it turned out it had no transmission fluid at all so I just put 2 quarts of it and the problem was solved but a few weeks later (present) its happening again. I put more but I checked the stick and it still had some still. Could you help me please to solve my problem.

well first off you need to get the leak fixed before you run it too low on fluid and burn the tnramission up. Sounds like you have an issue with a pressure control solenoid in the tranmission. that controls the line pressure and the shift feel. Pretty common on that tranmission if you get the problem go you will have an expensive fix on your hands and possably a burnt up trnamission. good luck :-)
