Pontiac Repair: E85 Gas, pontiac grand am, octane fuel

I drive a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am and I mistakenly put E85 gasoline into today.  What will this do to my car?

Hi Jeanne:

No don't worry, it will run poorly and you will get a check engine light on sooner rather then later when the tank get down around 1/2 tank fill it back up with regular 87 octane fuel it will tanke a few tanks of fuel before the checj engine light goes out and it runs better. 1 tank will not ruin anyt thing. do not do it again or you will cause harm to the fule injectors and fuel system. good luck :-)
