Pontiac Repair: 2001 pontiac grand am, pontiac grand am, power steering

my daughters car is at her place about 6- miles away from my home she started her car this morning and the power steering has gone out. can i drive it to my house without power steering and what do you think the problem is?

with out seeing it Your guess is as good as mine BUT if the fluid is full and there is no steering then the oump is bad. if there is no fluid in the pump then there is a leak and it could be a steering gear or more likely a hose let go. good luck :-)
